Our friends boat hatch was destroyed during the transport from Washington State to Florida. They advertise they have insurance and will cover any damage once the boat is in there care. Not the case. I think their insurance deductable is $100,000. And its liability insurance for them and will not cover your boat unless you can prove some sort of negligence on their part.So if you boat or damage is less then the deductible forget about an insurance claim. If you boat is damaged or a total loss expect to go to court with them. Having recently shipped a boat to Florida myself, I feel fortunate that I used another trucking company. I would not under any circumstance recommend Joule Yacht Transport nor would I ever use them to ship anything of mine. Expecially after I watched to what happened to two of the most honest and helpful people I have ever known. <P>

Please do not consider using Joule Yacht transport company. On June 17, 2010, Joule Transport picked up our 40 foot Carver Motoryacht from Windward Yacht Center, Marina Del Rey California. The driver, Thomas Davenport, called us the first night and said he had lost a part of the boat from his truck. This was documented when they delivered the boat to Cobbs Marina, Norfolk, Va, June 24, 2010. Originally Joule admitted their mistake and said they would take care of the replacement. Now it is July 20, and they are claiming NO responsibility and refusing to do anything. We cannot even get an insurance form from them. We will write an article to the US Boaters Magazine (after all boaters stand together) to keep anyone else from using them. We are also going to question the Interstate Transport Division to see if Joule has the proper insurance. It could be fraud if they are claiming to have insurance they do not have. Why else would they refuse to replace the lost parts? It should not cost that much to have the parts made by the boat yard. We are also going to file a claim with the Better Business Bureau. Also, they were not to be paid until the boat was delivered. They demanded payment in full by wire transfer 24hrs before they would deliver the boat. We refused, and they did deliver the boat. This is obviously not a reputuble company. Save yourself a lot of grief. DO NOT USE JOULE YACHT TRANSPORT.
